Ambedkar Chamber has expanded its advisory leadership by featuring Dr. Hishmi Jamil Husain, an internationally acclaimed expert in biodiversity and corporate sustainability, as Advisor (Pro-Bono).
Dr. Hishmi Jamil is a distinguished speaker and Lead Author for the Asia-Pacific Region at the Biodiversity Assessment of the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES). Dr. Hishmi Jamil Husain worked with Tata Steel as Head, Biodiversity, Corporate Sustainability.
He is among the notable alumni of the International Institute of Social Studies, Erasmus University, The Hague, the Netherlands; EPFL, Lausanne, Switzerland; Forest Research Institute (FRI), Dehradun; and Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), Aligarh, India.
He is a Commission Member of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), an elected Fellow of The Linnean Society of London, a Life Member of the Club of Rome, a Member of the International Advisory Council of The Grassroots Institute, Canada, a Member of the Advisory Board of the Development Leaders’ Alliance, and a Global Hon. Member of the ESG Committee of Dela Leaders Club.
He was awarded the 2015 Young Scientist Award, the 2016 Environment Scientist Award, and the Best Scientist Award 2020.
He is on the board of several national and international bodies. He is a visiting faculty and distinguished speaker in India and abroad. Dr. Hishmi has two books, several papers, and more than 160 articles to his credit. Dr. Hishmi is passionate about water management, biodiversity conservation, nature-based solutions, climate change, corporate sustainability, and sustainable development. He has more than two decades of international experience.
He has lived on four continents and served and studied in 13 countries, including Australia, India, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Spain, Estonia, Belgium, South Korea, China, Japan, Canada, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
