AMBEDKAR MEDIA CENTRE

Background and Rationale

Media plays a decisive role in shaping public opinion, democratic discourse, and social consciousness. However, voices rooted in constitutional morality, social justice, equality, and rational thinking often remain underrepresented or misrepresented in mainstream media narratives.

Dr. B.R. Ambedkar was not only a jurist, economist, and social reformer, but also a powerful journalist and media thinker. He founded and edited newspapers such as Mooknayak, Bahishkrit Bharat, and Janata, using media as an instrument for awakening consciousness, questioning power, and empowering the marginalized.

In this spirit, Ambedkar Media Centre (AMC) is envisioned as a dedicated platform to bring together journalists and media professionals who truly believe in Ambedkar’s values and are committed to ethical, fearless, and inclusive journalism.
